Corn and bean salsa gives this grilled cheese a Tex-Mex twist. Plant sterols have been shown to decrease your LDL cholesterol (the bad one) by an average of 10%.

4 small slices whole grain bread (such as Stonemill), about 130 g
4 tsp (20 mL) PC Blue Menu Celeb Margarine with Plant Sterols
3/4 cup (175 mL) PC Blue Menu Light Triple Cheddar Shredded Cheese
1/3 cup (75 mL) PC White Corn & Black Bean Salsa - Mild


  1. Spread one side of each piece of bread with margarine; place slices on work surface, margarine side down. Sprinkle two slices with half of the cheese. Drain salsa, discarding liquid portion. Place salsa on cheese-topped bread; sprinkle with remaining cheese and top with another slice of bread, margarine side up.
  2. Heat large nonstick frying pan over medium heat. Add sandwiches; cook for 3 minutes per side, pressing down on sandwiches with spatula occasionally, or until golden brown and cheese is melted.
  3. Cut in half to serve.
